Layout is done!

It is hard to believe that the very loose idea I had around 3 years ago is finally coming together.

The story is written, the graphics done - but it looks like I have just plonked the writing and graphics on a page!  As my daughter kindly pointed out 'looks like you have been hard at work on Word' - cheeky but true.

So I gave my images and text to Emma (oldest daughter) and said 'make it a book honey' and she has.  I knew in my mind what I wanted the pages to look like but I do not have the skill needed to make that happen.  I explain to Emma what I had in mind, she went away and came back with the first page layout and it was AMAZING.  So pleased with it, I wanted to cry.

Now the layout is agreed, Emma is working away at getting the pages done for me.  We are aiming to have the book layout completed by the end of next week, ready for a final proofread before I get my wonderful ARC girls to test it out.   To help me with my non-existing marketing, Emma has also created my book cover, which is great and in my favourite colour no less (pic above).

I must admit, having the book almost ready is exciting but I am still really worried it will not help the young people, as I am expecting it to.

Ultimately, this book was created to help people.  It is not about making profit (although I won't complain if it does) and it is not about me personally - I just want to give young people a tool that may help them communicate with their loved ones.

Well I will know either way soon enough.
